To all Club Members,
Happy New Year to you all, here’s to a fantastic 2019.
There have been a few changes to the ESSC that I would like to make you aware of as part of your host responsibility.
The new Liquor Licence stipulates that all patrons must be inside after 11pm to adhere to the noise pollution rules. The Liquor Licence continues to allow the ESSC to be open until 12pm midnight but for that last hour it is indoors only.
Visitors sign-in book:
The process surrounding non-members visiting the Club is very straight forward. If a non-member is to purchase alcohol, they must be signed into the visitors’ book by a member who is present at the introduction of and for the duration of their visit. This means that if the member leaves the visitor must leave.
To make the sign-in process easier for the bar staff, all visitors will be asked to wear a wristband once signed in to ensure all visitors have registered correctly.
We must follow this process properly to avoid the $10,000 fee (minimum) implied under the Sale of Liquor Act. The ESSC has recently been given a warning around this matter by the Police and Hutt City Council. Subsequently, another warning and the ESSC will be forced to close for a minimum period of up to 1 week and jeopardise the chance of renewing the liquor licence. After all the hard work that has gone into turning the ESSC into an amazing facility it would be a great loss to the community.
To Committee members:
To date thank you for being diligent around new members and memberships. Please continue to drive this as we need to build on our membership lists. Please be sure that bar staff and management receive updated lists as new members join with accurate details.
Sports memberships – Please let your members know that one guardian per child membership will receive a free ESSC card. This card needs to have the guardian’s full name and can not be used by family members. If there is another child playing sport please nominate a different guardian, if possible, to receive full benefit of the ESSC.
Please make sure members have their card with them when visiting the Club. If this is not possible, we suggest taking a photo of the card to have on your phone at all times.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
